Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly, warmly, and courteously, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience;
- Listen attentively to customer concerns and inquiries, demonstrating empathy and understanding;
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships;
- Perform initial vehicle assessments by effectively communicating with customers to gather information about their vehicle’s problems and accurately document the details;
- Collaborate with technicians the automotive issues and concerns;
- Provide comprehensive and transparent explanations of recommended repairs or maintenance services to customers, based on the vehicle’s condition and manufacturer guidelines. Clearly outline costs, timeframes, and available options, ensuring customers have a complete understanding of the service process;
- Upsell appropriate services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission servicing to maximize customer value;
- Perform inspections of repair with customer;
- Present service packages, maintenance plans, and warranty options to customers, emphasizing the benefits and value;
- Create and maintain accurate work orders, documenting all relevant details, including customer information, vehicle identification, reported problems, recommended services, and associated costs;
- Efficiently manage work orders throughout the service process, keeping customers updated on the progress and any changes;
- Perform quality checks on completed repairs to ensure that all work meets the highest standards and complies with safety regulations;
- Maintain accurate service records;
- Maintain comeback log;
- Close Repair Orders’s timely;
- Properly check out rental vehicles, monitoring and documenting mileage, fuel level, body damage, warranty information;
- Manage customer information in the database;
- Conduct post-service follow-ups with customers to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns;
- Call to confirm appointments for the following days schedule;
- Complete required annual compliance trainings;
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's license in good standing;
- Regular and consistent attendance and timeliness is essential;
- In-person work is essential;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers;
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Strong work ethic and reliability;
- Must be detail-oriented;
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications;
- Familiarity with automotive repair terminology;
- Knowledge of products;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and professional under pressure;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, bending, typing, writing, talking, viewing/ reading computer screen, critical thinking.
Work Environment: The Service Writer will primarily work in the Service bay. They may be exposed to various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The Service Writer may also be required to work rotating Saturdays.
