Welcome!
Little Red Wagon, a premier provider of Supported Living Services (SLS) in Marin County, is looking for a multi-talented part-time Weekend Facilitator (manager) to join us in our mission of providing guidance for people with developmental disabilities to have the highest quality of life!
About Us
At Little Red Wagon we believe that each individual has the right to quality protection, companionship and independence in their own home. We trust and appreciate our staff as well as the people we support.
About You
You must be experienced with the Regional Center system. As a Weekend Facilitator, you will oversee the weekend operations of a Regional Center-funded program supporting a small group of fabulous people with developmental disabilities, each living in their own homes in Marin County. You will be assisting the Executive Director and Lead Facilitator in overseeing a team of 25 staff (we call them "guides") and helping to provide the high standard of administrative and companionship support we offer. Up to 40 hours of initial "non-solo work" paid training at $25/HR will be immediately provided.
This position is partial-remote: In addition to working out of our Novato office, and visiting and/caring for the people you support in Marin County, you may be working some hours from home. You must live no further than 15 to 20 minutes from Marin County.
What You Will be Doing
Join the management team, offer your heart, humor, steady approach and enjoy a meaningful contribution to the world!
You will be handling the relatively small amount of weekend issues with staff or the people we support.
Assist with training, motivating and supporting our guides (caregivers) and the individuals we support.
Assist the Lead Facilitator and Executive Director in whatever surprises come up.
Review, monitor and oversee Google Docs, Google Sheets and Logs to ensure quality, accuracy and high level of day to day operation on the weekends.
Monitor non-severe medical concerns, medication, and medical appointments, including follow up.
Assist the Lead Facilitator in maintaining positive relationships with families and third party agencies, as needed.
And all done at a pace that works for both you and the agency.
What You Can Expect
This work falls under the labor category of Uncontrolled On Call Time.
The specific hours are flexible due to the nature of Supported Living Services (SLS) and are based on the needs of the program and your willingness to comply.
Your hours of expected availability will be Friday after 5:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, to Monday morning at 9:00 AM, variable hours. The majority of the hours are flexible hours that you control 100%, and enter into your time sheet, but are also sometimes unpredictable hours that you don't control as easily. Your hours will grow as you become more capable and confident and understand where you are needed. The majority of hours are between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on the weekends, but some are later and some earlier. Very rarely late at night or super early in the morning. Our agency does not manage critical patients or people with severe needs.
Some of your duties will be:
Visiting direct care providers (guides) and individuals we support
Meetings in person or on Zoom as needed
Reading and monitoring Daily Logs and other documents
Calendaring and confirming client medical appointments
Responding to texts, calls, or emails from direct care providers (guides) as needed during regular
Assisting with occasional "all hands on deck" housing transitions and changes
You will be very occasionally called to take emergency weekend coverage shifts when no one else is available. This is one of the most important aspects of your availability.
An important note about COVID-19: We are a hands-on, people-centered caregiving agency. Vaccination is a non-negotiable requirement of employment, and all staff and the individuals we support follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19 vaccinations.
