Position Overview
Messiah Christian Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher / Teacher Assistant to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
This is a part-time, half-day morning position for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a difference in a nurturing, Christian-based preschool environment.
Our staff works together to create a classroom filled with love, learning, faith, and fun, helping each child grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Responsibilities
- Create a warm, welcoming, and positive environment for preschool-aged children.
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities.
- Support children during circle time, centers, art, music, large-motor activities, outdoor play, and other classroom experiences.
- Encourage the development of early academic, communication, social-emotional, fine-motor, gross-motor, and self-help skills.
- Incorporate Christian values, kindness, and faith into everyday classroom experiences.
- Provide appropriate supervision and help maintain a safe classroom environment.
- Assist children with daily routines and transitions.
- Prepare classroom materials and help maintain an organized, clean, and engaging learning space.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, assistants, the Preschool Director, and church staff.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and their families.
- Participate in preschool programs, special activities, and staff responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Loves working with young children.
- Is patient, kind, dependable, energetic, and nurturing.
- Supports the mission and Christian values of Messiah Christian Preschool.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Communicates professionally and positively with children, families, and coworkers.
- Is willing to learn and contribute to a fun, supportive preschool environment.
- Has previous experience working with children; preschool or early childhood experience is preferred.
- Meets all required background check and employment requirements.
