Position Summary: Provides leadership and operational oversight for the Life Center Diabetes, Endocrinology & Wellness department, including direct supervision of department managers. Responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day operations, execution of strategic initiatives, and the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive services. Partners with the Department Director to advance departmental goals and support organizational priorities.
Critical Tasks:
- Directs daily operations of the department to ensure efficient workflows, appropriate staffing, and high-quality service delivery.
- Oversees department managers and provides leadership, direction, and accountability for all program areas.
- Partners with the Department Director to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and initiatives.
- Translates strategic priorities into operational plans and ensures execution across teams.
- Monitors and evaluates departmental performance, ensuring alignment with clinical, financial, and operational goals.
- Leads continuous quality improvement efforts using clinical outcomes, operational data, and patient feedback.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies.
- Supports and guides managers in staff supervision, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
- Fosters a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment that reflects organizational values.
- Identifies operational challenges and implements timely, effective solutions.
- Ensures effective communication across teams, departments, and leadership.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical, health science, public health, or health management field; master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in administrative management and supervision required.
- 3 years managing diverse teams with 40+ staff, preferably with Indigenous health care or public health entities preferred.
- 3 years of experience working with patients with diabetes preferred.
- State of Arizona driver’s license with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.
