This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that demand technical proficiency, safety consciousness, and a passion for craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to high-quality manufacturing and construction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Set up and operate various welding equipment including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Prepare metal surfaces using hand tools, grinders, plasma cutters, and press brake machines to ensure proper weld adhesion.
- Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to maintain precise dimensions during fabrication.
- Weld structural steel components such as beams, columns, plates, ductwork, pipe threading, and sheet metal assemblies with attention to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Utilize rigging equipment and forklifts for material handling and positioning of heavy metal parts during fabrication or assembly processes.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, schematics, and blueprint reading skills to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy.
- Follow safety procedures diligently while working on construction sites or in fabrication shops to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication shop projects or construction sites to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops involving structural welding projects.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, schematics, and technical drawings related to metal fabrication.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for welding quality assurance.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math skills, and use hand tools effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and ductwork assembly.
- Experience with rigging operations, pipe threading, plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, power tools, and machining equipment is preferred.
- Construction experience involving safety protocol adherence in industrial or site environments is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.
Join our team if you’re passionate about delivering top-tier structural welds that stand the test of time! We value safety-minded professionals who are eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment dedicated to excellence in metal fabrication and construction projects.
