Are you passionate about helping families achieve economic stability and career success? HOMES, Inc. is seeking an Employment Specialist to lead our employment and job readiness services for families who were formerly homeless. This role is all about connecting people to meaningful work, training, and growth opportunities—making a lasting impact in your community every day.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and coordinate all employment-related services for program participants.
- Partner with CareerSource Broward and other workforce agencies to identify jobs, internships, and training programs.
- Conduct individualized employment assessments for adults, seniors, and teens.
- Help participants create résumés, complete job applications, and ace interviews.
- Develop achievable employment and training plans tailored to each household.
- Facilitate workshops on workplace communication, professionalism, and digital literacy.
- Support youth and seniors in finding part-time, seasonal, or supplemental employment.
- Track progress, maintain confidential records, and report on employment outcomes.
- Build relationships with employers, training providers, and community partners.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Workforce Development, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in job development, employment counseling, or workforce training.
- Strong knowledge of local employment resources and workforce development programs.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and coaching skills.
- Ability to assess skills, set goals, and guide participants toward sustainable employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred, but not required.
