Overview
We are looking for a Lifeguard Manager with the ability to work flexible shifts throughout the season at our outdoor pool. Lifeguard Managers must maintain consistent supervision of Lifeguards and families at all times to ensure safety. Families will also be monitored by the Lifeguards that hold current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificates. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in the water and reliable transportation. Successful applicants may also be considered for swim lesson positions at our indoor pools that provide extra pay and extended hours, if desired. Prior experience is a major plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manages water safety and Lifeguard staff at a specific location.
- Maintains constant supervision of families at the facility, identifies families who need assistance, and supports families as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
- Exhibits super organizational skills and provides management with reporting and follow up documentation regularly.
- Maintains positive and nurturing relationships with staff and families, handling conflicts and complaints as necessary.
- Adheres to policies and procedures in organizational guidelines, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency incidents.
- Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration as necessary.
- Maintains sanitary pool standards, testing chemicals and filling out daily logs.
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
- May assist classes in fundamentals of water safety and swimming as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificate.
- Must have clean CORI and SORI background check.
- Ability to recognize and remedy hazardous and dangerous situations.
- Ability to swim in shallow and deep water and tread water.
- Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to recognize families who may need assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Lifeguard.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Swim Instructor.
This is a part-time, seasonal role averaging 22-30 hours per week including 1 weekend day per week.
The pool will be open through Labor Day, is open 7 days per week, 9:00am to 7:00pm. Shifts will be split across multiple Lifeguards.
Pay for this position starts at $26-$28/hour.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
