The Sample Control Technician is responsible for logging, tracking, and managing the receipt and shipment of laboratory samples. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper labeling, and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting daily lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log incoming samples in accordance with DOT regulations
- Verify samples against Chain of Custody (COC) and report discrepancies
- Enter sample data into Lab Management System and assign tracking numbers
- Label and route samples to appropriate labs for testing
- Prepare and ship bottle kits to clients following EPA and DOT guidelines
- Forward samples to external labs as required
- Dispose of samples and hazardous materials per safety procedures
- Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures as per SOPs
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Manage inventory and ensure adequate supply levels
Required Skills

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Associate’s Degree in Lab Science or related field (preferred)
- 0–2 years of experience (entry-level candidates welcome)
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
