Job Summary
The CDL & B1 Driver Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and B1 licensed drivers to meet the organization's staffing requirements. The recruiter works closely with hiring managers to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified candidates while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source qualified CDL and B1 drivers through job boards, social media, referrals, career fairs, and recruitment agencies.
- Screen resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet licensing, experience, and company requirements.
- Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews to evaluate candidates' qualifications and suitability.
- Verify driver's licenses, certifications, driving records, employment history, and background checks.
- Coordinate pre-employment processes, including drug testing, medical examinations, and onboarding documentation.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified driver candidates to meet current and future hiring needs.
- Build relationships with driving schools, training institutions, and industry organizations to attract talent.
- Collaborate with operations and hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and hiring priorities.
- Prepare and post job advertisements on recruitment platforms and social media.
- Track recruitment metrics and provide regular hiring status reports.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, transportation regulations, and company hiring policies.
- Support new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of recruitment experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or driver recruitment.
- Experience recruiting CDL and/or B1 licensed drivers is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial driver licensing requirements and transportation industry regulations.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment platforms.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
