Medical Assistant – FT – McLeod Family Medicine South – Florence
Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to providers and patients in a physician office environment. Assists in delivering quality patient care by preparing patients for examination and treatment, performing clinical procedures within scope of practice, and supporting efficient clinic operations. Maintains patient confidentiality, promotes patient safety, and contributes to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepares and rooms patients, obtaining and documenting patient histories, vital signs, chief complaints, and other pertinent information.

Assists providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and diagnostic testing.

Performs specialized tests, specimen collection, and other clinical procedures as ordered by a provider or approved standing orders.

Prepares, cleans, and stocks examination and treatment rooms; maintains clinical supplies and equipment.

Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instruments and equipment in accordance with established standards.

Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments within scope of practice and organizational policy.

Provides patient education and reinforces treatment plans, follow-up instructions, and preventive care information.

Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient needs and communicates concerns to the provider.

Performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

Graduate from an accredited CMA program.
Licenses & Certifications:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire
Essential Skills:

Strong computer skills.
