Job Description
TA Welding is seeking an experienced Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our growing team in Lubbock. We specialize in the fabrication, repair, and installation of steel staircases, handrails, guardrails, balconies, and other structural steel projects for apartment communities and commercial properties.
We are looking for a dependable individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work, works safely, and can complete projects independently.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install steel staircases, landings, and platforms
- Build, repair, and install handrails, guardrails, and balcony railings
- Cut, fit, weld, grind, and finish steel components
- Read blueprints, shop drawings, and measurements accurately
- Perform field welding and on-site installations
- Repair damaged structural steel and railings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Ensure all work meets applicable safety standards and building codes
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of welding and metal fabrication experience
- Proficient in MIG welding (TIG and Stick welding are a plus)
- Experience fabricating and installing stairs and railings is highly preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Structural steel fabrication experience
- Apartment or commercial construction experience
- Experience operating plasma cutters, chop saws, grinders, and fabrication equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
