YSS is looking for a dependable, compassionate Part-Time Residential Overnight Specialist to join our Residential Addiction Treatment team. If you’re calm under pressure, comfortable working independently, and passionate about helping youth build confidence and make positive changes, we’d love to have you on our team.
YSS Residential Addiction Treatment provides individualized, evidence-based recovery services for youth ages 12–18 in a safe, supportive, home-like environment. As a Residential Overnight Specialist, you’ll provide supervision, structure, and support during the overnight and morning hours—helping create a calm environment where youth can rest, reset, and prepare for the day ahead.
This is a supervision and support role, not a counseling or therapy position. You’ll be an important part of the treatment team, observing and supporting youth while keeping the program safe, structured, and running smoothly.
-
Supervise and support youth throughout the evening, overnight, and early morning hours with patience, respect, and consistency.
-
Build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries and reinforcing program expectations.
-
Stay alert to youth behaviors, needs, and concerns, and communicate important observations to the treatment team.
-
Provide crisis intervention and respond appropriately to medical, behavioral, or other emergencies.
-
Complete required bed checks, safety checks, client documentation, and incident reports accurately and on time.
-
Monitor and report unauthorized absences or other safety concerns according to program policies.
-
Assist with medications and medical needs as required, including appropriate documentation.
-
Support the morning routine, including wake-up, showers, chores, breakfast preparation, and getting the day started on the right foot.
-
Provide transportation for youth as needed.
-
Communicate effectively with overnight, morning, and treatment staff to ensure continuity of care.
-
Help maintain a safe, clean, respectful, and welcoming residential environment.
This is not a complete list of the responsibilities of this position. Duties may change at any time.
You’re dependable, observant, and able to stay calm when things get challenging. You understand that working overnight takes focus, patience, and good judgment. You can balance compassion with clear boundaries, work independently while staying connected to the team, and treat every young person with dignity and respect.
We invest in people—because when you thrive, so do the communities we serve. At YSS, you’ll find meaningful work, strong support, and benefits designed for real life.
