Job Summary
Falcon Design and Construction, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Framer / Carpenter to lead construction crews on commercial and residential projects throughout Central Florida. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, coordinating manpower and materials, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining project scheduleswhile working alongside the crew when needed.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metal framing, drywall systems, rough and finish carpentry, and commercial interior build-outs. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to read and interpret construction plans, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. The installer will work closely with Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s) to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise metal framing, drywall, and carpentry crews on active construction projects
- Perform and oversee light-gauge metal framing, wood framing, drywall installation, backing, blocking, and finish carpentry work
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Coordinate daily work activities with the provided manpower, and project sequencing to maintain production goals
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow
- Ensure all work is completed according to project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards
- Conduct daily job site inspections and quality control reviews
- Assist with layout, field measurements, material takeoffs, and material coordination
- Track labor productivity and communicate project progress to management
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays and rework
- Maintain accurate daily reports, safety documentation, and production records
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings as required
- Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and construction equipment safely
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of metal framing and carpentry experience (required)
- Minimum 2 years of foreman, lead carpenter, or supervisory experience (required)
- Strong experience with:
- Light-gauge metal framing (required)
- Wood framing (required)
- Drywall hanging and finishing coordination
- Rough (required) and finish carpentry
- Commercial interior build-outs
- Renovation and tenant improvement projects (required)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and specifications (required)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
- Knowledge of construction material management
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage crews and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must have own hand tools
- Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials and equipment
- Ability to work occasional evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as project schedules require
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, or similar construction management software
- Experience performing layout and field measurements
- Experience coordinating multiple trades on commercial construction projects
- Scissor lift and boom lift certifications
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
