Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, molds, and fixtures used in the production process. Duties
- Read and interpret complex engineering schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise tool fabrication.
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and other mechanical tools to measure, inspect, and verify dimensions during fabrication.
- Fabricate tooling parts from various materials including metal stamping presses, and other fabrication techniques.
- Assemble components into finished tools or dies with attention to detail, ensuring proper fit and function according to schematics.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and maintenance logs to ensure traceability and quality control.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a similar manufacturing role with a focus on tooling fabrication and maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs like AutoCAD for designing tooling components.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes related to tooling, assembly, and fabrication.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical schematics accurately.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measurement tools is essential.
