What we will do
We are looking for a dynamic procurement leader to support HVAC Controls sales and installation delivery for mission-critical data center projects across North America. In this role, you will serve as the primary procurement partner to regional field offices and the Data Center Sales organization, helping develop accurate installation cost models, execution strategies, and subcontracting plans for complex data center opportunities. You will lead supplier development, subcontractor sourcing, commercial negotiations, and contract alignment to improve competitiveness, reduce execution risk, and strengthen collaboration between branch teams and central procurement.
How we will do it
We need an organized individual with HVAC controls, mechanical, or electrical trade experience who can develop and implement supply chain strategies tailored to data center construction and retrofit environments. This person will support North American branches in procuring qualified subcontract labor and related services for precision cooling controls, BAS/BMS integration, commissioning support, and field installation execution. The role coordinates procurement activities using established systems, processes, and governance while ensuring compliance with delegated authority, commercial requirements, safety expectations, and customer-specific standards common to mission-critical facilities.
Key functions of this role include:
Partnering with Sales during the pursuit and pre-construction phases to own subcontractor installation pricing for data center HVAC controls work
Defining subcontractor and execution strategy for new builds, expansions, and retrofit opportunities
Reviewing the full project scope of work and customer requirements to clarify controls, mechanical interface, startup, and commissioning needs
Using estimating tools and market intelligence to build baseline installation pricing
Sourcing and leveling third-party subcontractor quotations across North America
Leading RFP development, bidder reviews, and commercial negotiations
Reviewing contract documents to ensure downstream subcontract protections align with customer obligations
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers that can support mission-critical schedules, quality, and uptime expectations.
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience required; mechanical, electrical, construction management, or engineering-related backgrounds strongly preferred.
Experience supporting HVAC controls, building automation systems, mechanical systems, or related operational processes in complex commercial or industrial environments.
Experience in design-build construction, mission-critical environments, data centers, or high-performance HVAC applications is highly preferred.
Works effectively with sales, operations, project teams, and suppliers; demonstrates leadership and sound judgment in fast-paced, high-visibility pursuits and execution planning.
Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; experience with estimating, bid leveling, or procurement analysis tools is preferred.
5–8 years of project management, estimating, procurement, or pre-construction experience in HVAC controls, BAS/BMS, mechanical systems, or mission-critical construction environments.
Hands-on field knowledge of controls installation, electrical/mechanical interfaces, startup, or commissioning is a strong plus (for example: controls technician, electrician, mechanical supervisor, estimator, or project engineer).
Procurement experience focused on construction, subcontracted installation services, HVAC controls, or mechanical/electrical systems, with strong cost analysis, commercial negotiation, and financial acumen.
Good PC and software skills, with the ability to analyze scope, compare proposals, track supplier performance, and support multi-project workloads across North America.
Interpersonal Skills - Candidate should be able to work effectively across branch offices, central procurement, sales, operations, legal, and supplier organizations while building alignment around project goals, execution strategy, and customer commitments.
Communication - This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to present pricing assumptions, sourcing recommendations, risks, and commercial considerations clearly to internal leaders, field teams, and suppliers. Strong English skills required. Additional language capabilities preferred.
Initiative/Execution/Motivation - We are looking for someone who takes ownership, makes informed decisions with incomplete information, and continuously improves pricing accuracy, supplier readiness, speed to quote, and overall project execution outcomes.
Ownership/Commitment - A strong candidate will influence decisions and results across a matrixed organization, even when execution depends on branch teams, sales leaders, engineers, and subcontractors outside their direct control.
Planning/Balance - Candidate should have the ability to establish priorities consistent with company objectives and adapt quickly to changing pursuit pipelines, regional demand, supplier availability, and customer schedules across North America.
Remote role - Ideally near a local airport for domestic traveling requirements
SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
