Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen tools while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Sort and organize dirty dishes and cookware for efficient cleaning flow.
- Assist with basic food handling and preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or large quantities of dishware to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces, following strict cleaning protocols.
- Support the food safety management system by ensuring all sanitation standards are consistently met.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff on bussing tables and clearing service areas during busy service times, especially in banquet or catering settings.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper dishwashing techniques.
- Experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment with familiarity in food service operations.
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely.
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food handling practices are a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Experience with food safety management systems and sanitation protocols.
