Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.

Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, including routine and emergency maintenance and repairs.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.

Support air and water balancing efforts to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.

Gain hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment, including:

Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers

Centrifugal and screw package chillers
-
Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
-
Electric duct heaters
-
Cooling towers
-
Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls

HVAC air distribution systems, including AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices

Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applications

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

High school diploma or GED required
-
Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferred

Knowledge of refrigeration principles

Strong understanding of basic electricity for HVAC and proficiency with diagnostic tools and instruments

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software

EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification required

HVAC/R Servicing Certificate preferred

Valid Virginia or Maryland drivers license

Must be a US citizen

Ability to obtain security clearance preferred
