Neuro ICU RN – Night Shift
We are seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN for a travel assignment at a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience — REQUIRED
- First-time travelers NOT accepted
- Strong Neuro Critical Care background required; general ICU experience is not sufficient
- ACLS, BLS/BCLS & NIH
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Must be comfortable caring for a high volume of stroke patients
Required Skills
- Ventilator management
- Neuro ICU & acute stroke/CVA management
- EVD & ICP monitoring
- Lumbar drains
- Post-neurosurgery care
- Continuous IV sedation
- Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
- Blood product administration
- Central line management
- IV starts
- Care of ventilated patients
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Preferred: Arterial line management.
Assignment Details
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Hours: 36 hours/week available
- Contract: 13 weeks, through end of February
- Ratios: 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census
- Weekend: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Float: Required
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Scrubs: Navy Blue & White
- Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
- Scheduling: Based on unit needs
Patient Population
Comprehensive Stroke Center caring for ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes, SAH, SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents/endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes and myasthenia gravis.
Important
- RTO after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
- Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR.
- Maximum 7 days RTO for Aya auto-offer.
- Candidates without 2 years of Neuro ICU experience should NOT be submitted.
- Strong Neuro Critical Care experience is mandatory.
Pay: $52.00 - $54.00 per hour
