Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake processes to ensure accurate medical records.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels to support comprehensive eye exams.
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary tests including visual acuity assessments and ocular measurements.
- Assist the optometrist during exams by handling equipment and recording findings accurately.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like OfficeMate/ExamWriter, ensuring all patient data is complete, accurate, and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing medical billing and coding processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience with intake procedures, vital signs measurement, medical records management, pre-testing such as visual field, OCT, retinal imagery .
- Familiarity with optometry practices, including basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as OfficeMate/ExamWritier or similar platforms for documentation and scheduling.
- Ability to perform clinic tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of medical coding and billing processes related to ophthalmic services.
- Experience working in medical office settings or clinics is highly preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
