A well-established outpatient rehabilitation network in Sarasota, FL is hiring a Certified Hand Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity conditions. Ideal for an experienced PT or OT who has earned (or is pursuing) CHT certification.
Location: Sarasota, FL (University Parkway area outpatient clinic)
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $39.70–$59.50/hr, based on experience (career ladder increases available before the 1-year mark)
Schedule: 40 hrs/week, 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, staggered start times between 7:00 AM–9:00 AM. No required weekends (optional Saturday morning OT available). Closed for 7 major holidays. No on-call.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity injuries/conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals
- Utilize specialized hand therapy techniques, splinting, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy
- Monitor progress and modify treatment plans to achieve functional goals
- Educate patients and families on injury prevention and home exercise programs
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Occupational Therapy degree (OTD or Master's in OT)
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential via the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical practice as a licensed PT or OT (3–5 years preferred)
Preferred:
- EMR experience and BLS (AHA) certification
