Role Summary:
Quantum Signal AI is looking for a motivated Applications Engineer to join our team. In this role you will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to help implement vehicle-adjacent technologies for research and testing. In this technical role you will work with advanced driver assist systems, simulation, mobility, and in-vehicle experiences. Great candidates will have a broad technical understanding across mechanical, electrical, and software systems, along with experience in rapid prototyping, analysis, and clear technical documentation. We look for curious generalists who embrace collaborative project work and are also individual self-starters.
Location:
This position is located in Saline, Michigan, with regular local travel to Dearborn (approximately one day per week). This position is in-person to encourage a culture of collaboration and mentorship.
What You’ll Do:

Collaborate with QSAI engineering teams, including software, mechatronics, and research engineers, as a member of various project-focused, cross-functional teams

Provide hands-on support for prototype hardware and software systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and ensuring that systems are ready to use

Conduct rapid prototyping of hardware and software systems alongside QSAI engineers to support testing, validation, and execution of projects.

Support driving simulator setup, configuration, and test execution, partnering with QSAI engineering and research teams on studies and testing activities.

Produce clear, maintainable documentation and presentations for internal use, and when applicable, for customer review.

Engage directly with Ford collaborators and QSAI leadership to identify project constraints, understand priorities, and gather feedback that shapes the project direction.

Report to and coordinate with QSAI leadership on project priorities, progress, and resource needs.

Identify opportunities to expand your role based on your skills and growth interests, in coordination with QSAI leadership and project teams.
What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering or a similar technical field

Ability to execute against multiple projects in an iterative/agile framework while managing competing deadlines

Hobby, school, or professional experience in any of the following areas

Mechanical, electrical, software, and integrated systems

IT systems administration, networking, and information security practices

Development and data operations

Strong communication skills and a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with customers and colleagues

Strong analytical skills and experience with analysis tools such as Excel, Python, MATLAB, etc.
