Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The College Readiness Coach works in conjunction with the ABE/ESOL Program Coordinator to ensure that all students receive proper guidance and support in both their academic and professional pursuits. This is a full-time position and serves as a point of contact for all students enrolled in ESOL programs. The College Readiness Coach will meet with students and faculty to determine their progress with language acquisition, to determine the student's potential interest in transferring to a college degree program, and if so, help them with choosing a degree path and guide them through the application and enrollment process. This individual will also work with the faculty and Program Coordinator to facilitate curriculum development to ensure it is aligned with the DESE ESOL standards.
Job Requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES: College Readiness Coach
Conduct one-on-one and group sessions with students in the DESE ESOL and Quincy College's for credit program
Assist students in setting short-term and long-term educational goals
Provides ongoing support to help students stay on track academically and personally.
Assists students in exploring college options, programs, and admission requirements.
Guide students to the appropriate department for completing college applications, FAFSA, scholarship forms, and refers students on on-campus and community support services.
Coordinates campus tours and presentations of academic programs.
Plans and delivers workshops on areas such as college planning and financial literacy.
Collaborates with instructors to integrate college into classroom instruction.
Tracks student progress and outcomes related to education.
Work with Quincy College faculty in reviewing and, when necessary, updating the College's ESL curriculum
Substitute in ESOL classes as needed.
Teach ESL credit class as needed.
Requirements:
Master's degree in education preferred.
Experience with DESE ABE & ESOL program requirements.
Experience working and teaching adult learners and diverse populations.
Experience in ESOL HISET curriculum development and assessment.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
