In this role, you will analyze financial data, help review financial records, and prepare financial statements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with accounting principles.
What we are looking for
- At least 5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax and accounting
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA license (or currently working toward it) is a plus, but not required
- Somone who understands the “whole picture”
- Experience with accounting software, especially QuickBooks online
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively
- Someone who pays attention to the details and takes pride in doing things thoroughly
- Professional, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information with integrity
- Great communication skills and the ability to work well with clients and team members
What you will do
- Review financial data to spot trends, variances, and performance insights
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Reconcile accounts and help keep financial data accurate and organized
- Maintain financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Prepare federal and state tax returns, including 1040s, 1065s, 1120s, and 1120S returns
- Work on more complex individual, partnership, S-Corp, and C-Corp tax returns
- Help with compliance reporting and regulatory filings
- Stay up to date on accounting standards, tax laws, and industry changes
- Ensure tax filings and financial reporting are completed accurately and on time
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Respond to client questions and requests in a timely and professional manner
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and fine hand movements for long periods
- Able to move around the office as needed, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
