Sage Fresh Eats - Durango, CO FT or PT Set schedule (preferred 6:00a–2:00p)
Sage Fresh Eats is hiring an experienced Prep Sous Chef - to join our small, scratch kitchen. You’ll lead prep and baking , working with fresh, local ingredients in a focused, positive environment.
What you’ll do:
- Produce daily soups from scratch: stocks, roasting, seasoning, batching, cooling, and labeling
- Support the scratch kitchen: prep veg/proteins, oversee daily bread production and baked items, make dressings, and help keep stations clean and organized
- Write prep lists, lead a small prep team
- Communicate proactively with a small team; jump in where needed to keep service smooth.
What we’re looking for:
- 1+ years in a professional kitchen (prep, line, sous, batch cooking, knife work).
- Reliable, organized, and steady under time pressure; clear communicator and team-oriented.
- Comfortable working independently and maintaining high standards for quality and cleanliness.
- Physical ability to stand for a full shift and lift up to ~40–50 lbs; Food Handler/ServSafe (or obtain with company support)
- Seeking long-term employment (not seasonal/short-term).
Schedule & pay:
- Day shifts only (preferred 6:00a–2:00p; some flexibility).
- Consistent, reliable schedule. Part or Full Time available.
- Compensation: $22+/hour DOE (our entry-level staff earn at least $20/hr). Growth and added autonomy as trust is built
