Engineering Tech II Job Summary
Under direction of engineering staff, assists in all phases of the design, development, production, testing, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment, tools and machinery.
Job Duties
- Perform work associated with automation improvements, new plant layouts, installation, calibration and operation of production machines
- Set up, adjust and operate machinery in support of the production process, as needed
- Test and inspect machines to determine safe and efficient operation, perform routine maintenance and fix standard malfunctions
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and shop order to determine machine setup, production methods and sequence of operation
- Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products, such as machinery or equipment and measuring instruments
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
- Perform work under general supervision
- Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher level staff
- Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
- Require accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program and 2 to 4 years of experience
- Provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
