Position Summary:
This position serves as a primary staff member in support of the overall development, organization, management, and supervision of a comprehensive co-curricular student organization involvement program (including Greek Life) that meets the needs of students from all backgrounds and circumstances. This program reflects sound student development theory and practice that aims to contribute to the growth, learning, and development of participants while also serving the campus's needs for social interaction. The person in this role can serve as a live-on staff member within Student Life, which requires participation in the professional on-call staff rotation.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Student Organization Leadership Development
- Support Associate Dean in regular auditing, reviewing, and updates of relevant operational policies for student organizations, their leaders, and their advisors. Educate the community on such operational expectations.
- Support Associate Dean with large-scale events on campus including Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Homecoming, Late Night Breakfasts and Doo Dah Day
- Manage student organization registration process and maintain an active and up-to-date record of registered student organizations and advisors.
- Manage all agency accounts for all student clubs and organizations
- Manage all components of the bi-annual Campus Involvement Fair to foster awareness of the engagement opportunities available through registered student organizations.
- Manage all components of the annual Student Life Leadership Awards Ceremony
- Serve as Student Life primary administrator of the Engage (GivePulse) platform pertaining to Student Government Association, clubs and organizations and other related groups; Provide ongoing training and development to staff, students and advisors with Engage (GivePulse) platform as it pertains to Campus Involvement.
- Support the maintenance, updating, and revision of the Marietta College Student Organization Handbook.
- Support the designing and implementation of leadership development and procedural training programs for registered student organizations and their advisors.
- Provide direct leadership, support, and evaluation of student organizations with event management processes.
- Facilitate external and internal relationships between and among student organizations, and internal and external communities.
- Collaborate with Student Government Association executive board on student organization allocation requests for event funding, including flash funding requests.
- Support Associate Dean with any follow up needed with the ENGAGE Team
- Develop commuter student specific programming and outreach in conjunction with Community Living; Manage commuter student spaces
- Assist other staff in Student Life with PioSOARs, Transfer Tuesdays, PioConnect, HOME, Matriculation, and other campus-wide events as needed.
Greek Life Leadership Development
- Provide support, advice, and advocacy to a well-established Greek Community, directly advising Interfraternity Council and the College Panhellenic Council working with National Fraternities and Sororities.
- Provide comprehensive advising and leadership to social Greek-letter organizations, Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, and the Greek honor society Order of Omega.
- Serve as a liaison to international and national offices, chapter advisors, faculty advisors, housing corporations, alumni, and members of the College community.
- Advise the coordination of formal and informal Panhellenic and IFC recruitment efforts.
- Develop and implement educational programming (e.g., alcohol education, sexual misconduct prevention, hazing prevention) for both individuals and chapters, including an annual Greek Leadership Retreat.
- Facilitate Presidents meetings.
- Oversee and assist with Greek events, including Greek Movers, Family Weekend Open Houses, Hazing Prevention Week, Greek Nights at Athletics events, Greek Week, and New Member Convocations.
- Oversee data collection and database management for fraternities and sororities.
- Maintain active and current records on membership, retention, recruitment trends, and scholastic achievement of all Greek-letter organizations.
- Utilize information gathered from data and records to strengthen student organization leadership development through strategic action planning initiatives.
Branding and Promotion
- Work with the Associate Dean and with Brand Management to create and utilize shared branding and promotion of student organizations.
- Develop and execute communication plans for campus traditions and events linked to specific student organizations, to reach a variety of audiences, including students, colleagues, alumni, parents and families.
- Ensure the maintenance and sharing of information from the calendar of events and activities.

- Attend staff meetings to share information and gather feedback for the purposes of goalsetting, strategizing, evaluation, and supervision.
- Represent Student Organizations/Campus Involvement in a variety of forums both on- and off-campus; attend, conduct, or participate in a variety of committees as assigned.
- Support the College's Title IX initiatives and coordinate anti-hazing compliance efforts, including development and review of policies and procedures and oversight of compliance administration and reporting.

Required Experience, Education, and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, with master's degree preferred; preference given to candidates with a master's in counseling, college student personnel, higher education administration, or related area; candidates with bachelor's degree will be considered if they have prior work experience in relevant role(s).
- Minimum four to six years work experience in higher education is preferred, with minimum of at least two years of experience in student activities either professionally or a combination of professionally and in a student leadership role, including in the area of Greek Life.
- Experience in Title IX investigation and/or administration, or willingness to be trained.
- Valid US driver's license and insurability under Marietta College's liability coverage.
