We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Client Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile accounts including general ledger, bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage client billing processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and review journal entries for accuracy, including debits & credits and accrual accounting entries.
- Assist with financial analysis tasks such as cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members on financial report writing, interpretation of financial data, and preparation for audits or regulatory reporting.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all accounting activities, ensuring adherence to internal controls and policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel (VLOOKUP function, spreadsheets, data analysis).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for reporting purposes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; mentoring experience is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
