JOB
The Deputy Public Guardian has a vital responsibility in the planning, organization, and implementation of Public Guardian services within Mineral County. This role involves overseeing the comprehensive care, custody, and management of individuals under guardianship, ensuring their safety and well-being. The individual will execute essential functions that promote the personal development, education, and support of these individuals. By actively addressing their needs and preferences, this position aims to ensure that each person receives customized attention, resources, and services tailored to their unique circumstances, fostering an environment that supports their growth and dignity. The Deputy Public Guardian must demonstrate familiarity with the Nevada Division for Aging and Disability Services (ADSD) Service Specifications and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Operations Manual (PINS).

Required Certifications and Licenses
Possession of a valid driver’s license or alternative means of travel, must obtain and maintain all require in-service training pertinent to this role and must maintain familiarity with Nevada Division of Aging and disability Services (ADSD) Service Specifications and Operations Manual (PINS)
Experience and Training
Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED. At least two (2) years of experience in public or business administration and accounting. At least two (2) years of experience in human services, community health work, or social work. Experience with programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and Veteran Services. Understanding of case management methods and ethical guidelines. Some bookkeeping experience required.
