Under the supervision of the Grounds Manager for The University of West Alabama, this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Mow, line trim, water, seed, fertilize, and maintain lawns.
- Prune and transplant shrubs, spread bark, and maintain flower beds as needed.
- Pick up trash and other related debris from all landscaped beds as needed.
- Keep all mulched/landscaped beds free of undesired growth.
- During inclement weather, some snow and ice removal may be needed.
- Empty trash containers and replenish bags.
- Some weekend work will be required.
- Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Transporting moderately heavy items at times.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Performing work outside during all times of the year.
- Operation of University vehicles and grounds equipment.
- There may be a high level of walking required in this position.
