Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitor patient health, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, dementia, or autism. Experience in healthcare or caregiving is preferred, along with a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Observe and document patient condition, behavior, and response to treatments or interventions
- Utilize assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safe transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation practices
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Support patients with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies and dementia care techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans
- Assist with transportation or accompany clients to appointments as needed
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid or CPR skills when required
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, autism support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan adherence is advantageous
- Experience in patient observation, caregiving for seniors or individuals with disabilities, and working within HIPAA regulations is beneficial
- Certifications such as CPR and first aid are preferred but can be provided upon hire for qualified candidates
- Prior experience involving heavy lifting or the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts is a plus
