American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring at least 2 years of experience, telemetry competency, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a Neuro/PCU focus in a 97-bed hospital setting
-
Patient ratio of 1:4–5
-
Schedule options of 3x12s or 4x12s, day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities

Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities is required

Charting via Epic

Free parking on-site

Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required prior to start; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Telemetry competency required

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; no additional PTO will be approved after accepting the assignment

Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
