Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to support the design, quoting, and implementation of industrial and utility burner systems. This role combines engineering, project support, and customer interaction to help deliver reliable, efficient, and environmentally compliant combustion solutions for customers in power generation, refining, petrochemical, and other industrial markets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in combustion systems, practical field experience, and the ability to work closely with customers and internal teams to develop effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Quoting & Proposal Support
- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and quotations for new burner systems, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
- Work with sales teams to develop solutions that meet customer requirements, industry standards, and performance expectations.
Engineering & System Design
- Support the design and development of burner and combustion systems.
- Perform engineering calculations and system evaluations related to combustion performance, heat transfer, and equipment integration.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations, including NFPA, ASME, and API requirements.
Field Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support during installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist customers in identifying and resolving combustion, performance, or emissions-related issues.
- Support both on-site and remote service activities as needed.
Emissions Control
- Contribute to the design and optimization of low-emission combustion solutions, including systems utilizing SNCR and SCR technologies for NOx reduction.
Project Support
- Coordinate technical aspects of projects from proposal through completion.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, controls, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate new technologies and design approaches that improve burner performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Assist with the development of both standard and custom-engineered solutions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare engineering documentation, reports, manuals, and project records.
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in combustion systems, burner design, process engineering, or a similar industrial environment.
- Knowledge of industrial burners, combustion processes, and emissions control technologies.
- Experience preparing technical quotations, proposals, and cost estimates.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as Excel, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20–40% as needed.
Preferred
- Experience with SNCR and SCR systems.
- CFD modeling experience (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, or similar).
- Knowledge of burner management systems (BMS), flame safety, and controls.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience working with utility boilers or other high-temperature industrial combustion equipment.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
