Allen’s bakery is the heart of the orchard. People come from far and wide for their favorite yummy treats. Ok - let’s face it, they come for the donuts - so we have to make the best stuff in town! This is a seasonal position and we are looking for awesome bakers to work weekdays and weekends starting late August through late October.
Hours are typically 7:30am -3:00 pm with some flexibility, depending on the day of the week and needs of the bakery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Make fabulous donuts - mixing, placing in donut fryer & actually frying donuts (it is more than just decorating) - we make our donuts fresh every day & do not take them out of a freezer to thaw
- Assist bakery staff with other bakery items as needed
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble kitchen equipment
- Ensure food surfaces and kitchen equipment meet all health and safety standards
- Wipe down and sanitize work areas after each shift
- Wash dishes, maintain a very clean kitchen
- Sweep and clean floors at closing
- Take incoming requests for bakery products
- Assist orchard guests with bakery product questions
- Clean bakery; make sure it follows all health code regulations
- Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- Bakery & customer service experience a plus
- Food Safety Training Certification is a plus
- Must be able to read recipes and follow instructions
Work Environment
- Must be able to follow all health regulations
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Will require long periods of standing and repetitive arm work (mixing)
- Must cover hair with proper hair covering while working in the bakery
- This position is an hourly position, salary is commensurate with experience
- Dress is casual, Allen’s T-shirt must be worn while working,
