Job Summary
Anchored in Academics, LLC is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School Math and Physics Tutor to inspire and support students in mastering essential academic concepts. This contracted; as-needed, position offers an exciting opportunity to help teenagers excel in their coursework, prepare for exams, and develop a genuine understanding of mathematics and physics. The ideal candidate will bring energy, patience, and a passion for teaching, utilizing innovative learning technology and tailored sessions to foster student success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging online instruction and personalized tutoring sessions in high school-level math and physics subjects, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and physics principles.
- Develop customized sessions that align with curriculum standards and address individual student needs.
- Utilize various learning technologies and digital tools to enhance the tutoring experience and facilitate interactive learning.
- Assess student progress regularly through informal evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Communicate effectively with Anchored staff and keep staff informed on all aspects of student progress.
- Prepare students for standardized tests and exams through targeted test preparation tutoring strategies.
- Manage dynamics effectively during virtual sessions to maintain focus, motivation, and a positive learning environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching or tutoring high school students in math and physics disciplines, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and how to effectively teach detailed science concepts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced math topics such as calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, data structures, discrete math, and related fields like Chemistry and AP Chemistry and Biology are highly desireable.
- Experience working with teenagers in a one-on-one settings; ability to manage diverse learning styles effectively.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in online instruction platforms, learning technology tools, and digital resource management.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Ability to adapt sessions based on student needs; experience with special education is a plus.
- Passion for education coupled with patience, enthusiasm, and a motivating attitude to inspire students’ confidence in their abilities.
