Summary:
The Janitorial Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas, restrooms, and back-of-house areas within the resort. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for guests and staff. The Janitorial Attendant plays a vital role in upholding the resort’s high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning Duties:
- Clean and sanitize public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and entrance areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in public areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to resort policies.
- Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring all supplies are replenished and facilities are spotless.
Maintenance and Upkeep:
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- May have to perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Guest Interaction:
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Provide assistance and information to guests as needed.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and restock janitorial closets as necessary.
- Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
Team Collaboration:
- Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
- Support and train new janitorial staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
