Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to serve in a per diem capacity, providing expert pharmaceutical care across diverse clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice, including critical care, trauma centers, and specialized units such as pediatrics and oncology. As a Pharmacist - Per <PERSON>, you will play a vital role in ensuring medication safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes through precise medication management, clinical assessments, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately while ensuring adherence to pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapies, considering physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including acute pain management and emergency interventions.
- Manage IV infusions and aseptic techniques within sterile environments, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) for medication ordering, documentation, and inventory control.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services in specialized areas such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), oncology, and trauma centers with Level I or Level II trauma experience.
- Precept pharmacy residents and students to foster education and professional development in hospital medicine.
- Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by maintaining documentation standards and participating in audits related to drug regulation.
- Support patient service initiatives by educating patients on medication administration, side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacology, physiology, and medical terminology to enhance patient care quality.
Experience
- Proven post-residency experience in hospital pharmacy settings with a focus on acute care environments.
- Extensive ICU experience, including Level I Trauma Center exposure and emergency room practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in managed care principles within hospital operations.
- Significant clinical pharmacy experience involving oncology, pediatrics, pain management, and critical care disciplines such as ICU and emergency medicine.
- Familiarity with pharmacy regulatory standards and pharmaceutical compliance protocols.
- Experience with hospital pharmacy systems (PIS) for medication management and inventory oversight.
- Strong background in patient assessment, medication therapy optimization, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Prior precepting roles or mentorship experience supporting future pharmacy professionals is advantageous.
