Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met consistently.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, slicers, and other appliances essential for meal preparation.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper cleaning of utensils, surfaces, and equipment throughout shifts.
- Follow strict food safety protocols to ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are maintained at all times.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service delivery.
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing dishes according to specific requirements and recipes.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a food service environment such as a restaurant or catering setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and food preparation methods.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food safety management practices.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Experience in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation across diverse cuisines is advantageous.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
