Retail Associate Job Description
We are searching for an enthusiastic, friendly, and detail-obsessed Retail Associate to join our team. The role will have several responsibilities ranging from customer-facing instrument sales, repairs, and rentals, to backend billing support and inventory reconciliation. You should be well-organized, flexible, a problem solver, and willing to assist wherever needed.

Specific duties, tasks, and responsibilities for this role are given below:
- Associate will do both clerical work and also selling, renting instruments to customers. Tasks include the following:
- Data entry of new rental contracts, instrument sales, rental returns
- Following up with rental customers whose payments fail and need to update billing information- by phone, email/text, and mail according to documented processes.
- Seasonal counting of inventory (annual at end of year) for stock instruments, books, cases, accessories, maintenance kits
- Data entry of incoming shipments of accessories, books, cases, maintenance kits, etc. (tracked by Square)
- Unboxing, data entry, & preparation of stock instruments- new sale-ready horns from manufacturer and also used unprocessed horns
- Helping customers with instrument rentals/sales, accessory sales, repair check ins/purchases
- Upkeep of the retail area, including items for resale and instruments.
- Sending and following up and tracking of invoices to customers and school accounts for goods and services provided.
- Answering incoming phone calls, texts, and emails from customers to the store
- Taking ownership of their own performance and ownership of improving their own performance:
- Communicating customer requests with other members of the company.
- Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Great phone etiquette, genuine customer service in both inbound customer interactions (such as them coming into the store or calling us) and outbound (such as reaching out to collect payment for a rental instrument)

General Job Requirements:
- Driver's license or reliable transportation, as this job requires physical presence at 2201 W 1st Street in Ankeny.
- Good time management and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
