Job Overview
Riviera Christian Childcare is seeking a childcare teacher who can create a warm and loving environment for children aged 8 weeks to 11 years old. Experience with multiple age groups, including infants, is preferred. We operate Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
The teachers and aides at Riviera Christian School & Childcare (RCS) have opportunities for ongoing training as well as employment benefits.
The faculty and staff serve together to provide Christ-centered training for the children in their care.
RCS is an integrated auxiliary of West Hills Community Church (the Church). As such, all of the RCS staff are employees of the Church and share in the ministry of the Church to follow Jesus Christ and be collaborators in God’s work in the world. Each member of our staff is urged to become the kind of person and live the kind of life that Jesus taught and modeled, by following the teachings of the Bible.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a childcare classroom (includes supervision, documentation, cleaning, meeting children's needs, lesson planning, etc.)
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, support staff, and leadership
- Plan developmentally appropriate activities
- Supervise support staff
- Help ensure that the classroom is follow current child care rules, as established by the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC)
Requirements
- Is a practicing Christian, participating in a local church
- Must sign a Statement of Faith and Christian lifestyle Covenant
- Has a certificate or prior experience teaching in Early Education (preferred)
- Must meet all the Oregon requirements for a Child Care Teacher
- Is familiar with child development, birth to age 11
- Communicates effectively using Brightwheel and email
- Fosters positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
- Demonstrates characteristics that lead to good rapport with children
- Has a clear Central Background Registry (CBR) background check
- Is well-organized and dependable
