This is a
Full-Time clerical position that supports the Alvin College Welcome Center.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends.

SUMMARY
The Enrollment Specialist provides services for enrollment, registration, and general student services for prospective and current credit students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Serves as primary contact for all incoming calls to the Alvin College Welcome Center and Recruitment and Admissions live chat

Serves as the first point of contact for all Welcome Center guests and provides general information about college services and activities

Assess and processes required admissions documentation and releases admission holds on student records

Triages students’ needs and makes referrals to admissions, academic advising, career services, and counseling services

Provides one-on-one instruction to students with Apply Texas application completion and program changes

Determines and processes district residency classifications

Provides information to students about college degree plans, program requirements, and admissions deadlines

Accepts documentation and forms needed for admissions and registration
-
Must maintain knowledge of state regulations regarding residency, tuition exemptions and waivers, THECB policies that affect students, and federal privacy (FERPA) laws

Maintains inventory of office supplies and prepares orders of needed items each semester

Other duties as assigned by the Admissions and Retention Supervisor
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
