Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and become a vital part of our logistics operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure timely and secure deliveries. You’ll navigate using GPS systems, adhere strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while contributing to efficient supply chain management and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers for long-haul and local deliveries
- Plan routes effectively using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly according to logistics cargo handling standards
- Transport hazardous or dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Load, secure, and unload freight accurately while adhering to truck loading and unloading procedures
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with regulatory requirements
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving across diverse terrains
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and tractor-trailers used for various freight types
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling
- Experience with manual transmission trucks and manual handling of logistics cargo
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and safety protocols for hazardous or sensitive cargo
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the specific freight transported (e.g., Hazmat endorsement)
- Demonstrated ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems efficiently on over-the-road routes
