About Us
We are a fast-growing asset-based trucking company operating our own fleet, specializing in container drayage and intermodal transportation at the Port of Houston.
We are seeking an experienced Drayage Dispatcher who can independently manage daily port operations and handle high-volume dispatching in a fast-paced environment.
This is NOT an entry-level position. Hands-on Port of Houston drayage experience is REQUIRED.
This is a full-time on-site position in Houston, TX. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch company drivers for container pickups, deliveries, and empty returns at Port of Houston terminals
- Monitor real-time driver activity and proactively resolve delays, port congestion, exams, chassis shortages, and terminal-related issues
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, warehouses, terminals, and steamship lines
- Track and manage LFD, demurrage, detention, cut-offs, ERD and other critical milestones to minimize additional costs
- Optimize routing, scheduling, and load planning to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiency
- Independently manage high-volume, fast-paced daily operations
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and load tracking information
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of U.S. drayage dispatch experience
- Hands-on experience with Port of Houston operations (REQUIRED)
- Strong understanding of the container lifecycle (pickup → delivery → empty return → cut-off)
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly
- Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills
- Proficient in Excel and dispatch software
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. Candidates must be able to work from our Houston office. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bayport, Barbours Cut, BNSF, and UP rail operations
- Experience dispatching company drivers (asset-based fleet experience preferred)
- Experience with PortPro or other transportation management / dispatch software is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Chinese) is a plus
