SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
Our clients are seeking compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessionals to support students ages 5-17 with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, emotional disabilities, speech and language impairments, multiple disabilities, and other complex learning needs. As an ISBE-approved therapeutic day school, the program provides highly individualized instruction in a structured, relationship-based environment focused on academic, social-emotional, communication, and life skills development.
CLIENT'S LOCATION
Schools are located in Highland Park, IL
DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT'S DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES < /b>
- Provide direct classroom support to students with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special needs in a therapeutic day school setting.
- Assist the teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans, and instructional activities.
- Support students with academic tasks, communication development, social skills training, and daily living skills.
- Assist with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques as directed by classroom staff.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students meet educational and behavioral goals.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE< /b>
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with school staff
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus
- Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent (associates or higher preferred)
