First-Year Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor (Part-Time)

The Independent Electrical Contractors of Kansas (IECKS) is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician to serve as a First-Year Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor in the Kansas City metro area.

About the Role
The instructor will teach the nationally accredited Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) proprietary apprenticeship curriculum to first-year electrical apprentices. Classes will be held during the day at Teague Electric's training facility in Lenexa, Kansas.
This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 5 hours per week for each assigned class. We anticipate offering one or two classes this fall. Applicants are welcome to teach a single class or both, depending on availability and interest.
Qualifications
- Current Kansas Journeyman or Master Electrician license required
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical theory
- Commercial and/or industrial electrical experience preferred
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Passion for mentoring and developing future electricians
- Previous teaching or training experience is a plus, but not required
What You Will Do
- Teach the IEC nationally accredited first-year apprenticeship curriculum
- Lead classroom discussions and hands-on learning activities
- Encourage student participation and engagement
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Foster a positive, professional learning environment
- Work collaboratively with IECKS staff to support apprentice success
Teaching Location
Classes will be held at Teague Electric in Lenexa, Kansas.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
