About the Role
Xanfab is seeking an Assembly Technician to support our PCB assembly (PCBA) production through hands-on soldering, assembly, and rework work. This role plays a key part in maintaining build quality and inventory accuracy on the production floor. The ideal candidate brings hands-on soldering experience, strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and thrives in a dynamic production environment where their contributions are visible and directly add value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, rework, and repair of small electrical sub-assemblies in accordance with work instructions,
IPC standards, and drawings as set forth by the Production Manager
- Maintain status and traceability of component inventory using configuration management tools
- Keep internal documentation organized and up to date
- Contribute to our continuous improvement culture
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001, Class 3 (aerospace/high-reliability) certification required; candidates with lapsed
certification and demonstrated equivalent experience may be considered pending re-certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a PCBA manufacturing environment
- Soldering and desoldering of through-hole and SMT components, including use of microscope, fine-pitch
soldering, and rework/modification
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Familiarity with ANSI/ESD S20.20 electrostatic discharge (ESD) control requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency (work order logging, MES/ERP systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with J-STD-033C and other IPC standards
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Critical thinker who requires minimal supervision to complete tasks
- Computer experience/operation (Microsoft Office)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work day shift, with occasional overtime and weekend work as business needs require
- Regular presence on the production floor; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 25lbs (fixtures, tooling, equipment)
- ITAR- To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to
obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
