Position Summary
The Program Manager works closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to deliver high-quality services to uninsured and underserved populations across Kalamazoo County. This position requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, cultural humility, and the ability to manage both operations and program development. Core Responsibilities
Program Development & Coordination
- Develop comprehensive program strategies aligned with organizational goals and community needs. Recommend strategies that are sustainable, scalable and impactful
- Coordinate program activities, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to timelines and budgets
· Coordinate logistics for events, including setup, materials, and communication to staff, and volunteers.
· Provide administrative oversight including documentation, scheduling, and resource allocation
· Identify emerging community health needs among uninsured populations.
Data, Reporting & Outcomes
- Track and monitor key program metrics, including:
- Patients served
- Services provided
- Referral patterns
- Attendance rates
- Community impact indicators
- Develop reports, dashboards, and summaries for leadership, board members, and funders.
- Support grant reporting, compliance, and documentation.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data.
Budget Support & Resource Stewardship
- Assist with program budget tracking and expense monitoring.
- Identify supply needs and cost efficiencies.
- Help identify partnership, funding, and in-kind donation opportunities.
Volunteer & Partner Coordination
- Manage volunteer recruitment, training, supervision and recognition to build a motivated team.
- Serve as a liaison with community partners for outreach, screenings, and health education initiatives.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Provide day-to-day guidance to volunteers and program staff (if applicable).
- Identify program challenges and implement solutions.
- Develop and refine policies, workflows, and program tools.
- Prepare regular updates and recommendations for the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to serving uninsured and underserved populations.
- Experience in program coordination, nonprofit operations, healthcare, or social services.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and data tracking systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with leadership.
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proven experience in supervising teams or managing volunteers within community or social service settings
- Strong background in program development, project management, and strategic planning
- Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various audiences
- Experience in fundraising activities and donor engagement is a plus
- Experience with grant reporting and outcome measurement.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly position, $22–$30 per hour, depending on experience and scope.
- 24-30 hours a week, flexible scheduling within operational needs; some evenings or weekends may be required.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
