Is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter for renovation and construction work, primarily in Brooklyn and Queens.
We are looking for a skilled, hands-on carpenter who can work independently when needed or lead and work alongside a crew. Work may range from being assigned to renovation projects to handling smaller jobs, repairs, and punch-list work.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on carpentry and general renovation work
- Work independently or lead and work alongside other employees
- Take responsibility for assigned work and see it through to completion
- Lay out work and direct other employees when necessary
- Handle smaller jobs, repairs, and punch-list items independently
- Read and work from plans and drawings
- Identify field conditions and determine the proper way to complete the work
- Maintain quality workmanship and a clean, safe work area
- Communicate progress and job-site needs to management
Required Experience
Applicants must have strong hands-on experience in:
- Residential and commercial renovations
- Kitchen and bathroom renovations
- Rough and finish carpentry
- Wood and metal framing
- Doors, hardware, trim, and moldings
- Cabinetry and millwork
- Drywall installation
- Flooring and tile work
- General electrical work
- General plumbing work
- Reading plans and laying out work
- Leading other workers when required
Must be reliable, punctual and have basic hand tools.
Full-time, year-round work
Primary work area: Brooklyn and Queens
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
