Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are properly sterilized and ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental X-ray machines while following infection prevention protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness.
- Maintain the cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments following strict infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, taking vital signs, and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Assist with dental equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal operation during clinical procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry or specialty areas such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery.
- Hands-on knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for medical documentation and patient management.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
- Experience with medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards is essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
- Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred; ongoing education in areas like endodontics or prosthodontics is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
