Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters based on technical drawings and specifications.
- Operate CNC equipment confidently to produce parts within specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations during production runs, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance and precision.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.
- Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly by diagnosing problems with tooling, programming, or machine components.
- Document production activities accurately, including setup procedures, inspection results, and any machine adjustments made during shifts.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machines such as mills or lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of G-code programming language and basic CAD/CAM software is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications with precision.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and quality control procedures to verify part dimensions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting machinery issues.
- Prior experience with preventative maintenance routines on CNC equipment is a plus.
