Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings, ensuring adherence to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and local electrical codes.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation and repair processes.
- Perform high-voltage wiring tasks safely on industrial equipment and infrastructure, following strict electrical safety procedures.
- Conduct inspections of electrical wiring, systems, and components to identify potential hazards or failures before they impact operations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete electrical work accurately and efficiently on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to install programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and industrial electrical components for automation purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical practices.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams with precision.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring, troubleshooting electrical systems, and performing diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical systems including low voltage controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Construction site experience with a focus on renovation projects or new installations in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of local electrical codes combined with the ability to implement safety procedures diligently.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment required for effective electrical work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex electrical issues swiftly.
